TWIST is the infamous South Beach gay club, known throughout the world for its great music, friendly staff, and always being packed with hot tourists and locals alike. TWIST is actually seven bars in one with each bar having its own unique atmosphere and décor. You can literally 'bar hop' without ever leaving this two story club.. Its reputation as a 'must do' when in Miami is well deserved.
Club MIA Miami Restaurant and Lounge
NOTE: This club is temporarily closed
Club MIA is one of the best clubs outside of south Miami Beach, but close enough. Located in Downtown Miami, just 10min from south beach.
The place is a restaurant during the day and a NightClub by 10pm on Wednesdays (Latin night), Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays; many events on Sundays too. Age limit to get in is now 21 for man and 18 for ladies. Put your name on the Guest List and your group will get in free plus won't have to get in line!
What can u expect from club MIA? Well, as u get close to it you'll notice all the lights outside and flashing lights on the second floor from what seems to be some sort of special effect that will make you think the lights are coming from inside the club through fogged glass windows.
Clubs Guest List
As for parking valet is available for just $10, but if you are like me I prefer to park myself whenever possible, and there is a very convenient parking lot you can pay for with cash or credit card just across the street in the median of Biscayne Blvd.
Now, one time I had about and 1hr left before i wouldn't have to pay, so i didn't and sure enough I got an extra $18 ticket waiting for me, Could've had another Chivas on the rocks with that. Yep, specialty drinks are around $12, beer around $9, energy drinks $6.
As you approach club MIA's velvet you'll notice a fairly small line, but you'll be dress code checked and will have to $20 if not on a Guest List or getting VIP bottle service, plus stand in line.
After you pass the cashier you are still outdoors and will come across a very cool square bar with lights, lots of couches and a DJ whose music only sounds outside. After that you go through double doors to get inside the building. You'll find a very elegant, two floors, rectangular, and with very good use of the space NightClub/Lounge.
The 1st floor has two rooms: one with the main dance floor by the main bar, a small stage on which the background plays video as if it was a huge glass screen TV(it comes from 2 projectors) and a VIP area around the main dance floor.
Some couches are available for non-VIP guests near the dance floor. The 2nd room has a VIP area with its own DJ, a bar nearby and the main bathrooms. Both rooms have stairs to the 2nd floor.
The entire 2nd floor is VIP and overlooks the main dance floor; it also carries the Main DJs and 2 balconies for dancers, and 2 small bars. Note: you can stand right behind the main DJs and see all they do which is pretty cool.
Positives: awesome lighting and decor, great ambiance and good looking people.
Negatives: Gets a little hot when full.
